3Problem with Melissa & Doug products
By older mom
We have purchased many Melissa & Doug products such as this dinosaur one and a similar one with animals. We also have 2 of their large floor puzzles. The kids love them all and are great for young children. The problem is that they aren't well made. Some of the paper on the front of the pieces hasn't been totally glued on, so rips off. Also, both the wood & cardboard breaks pretty easily, so they don't last all that long.

5these puzzles are wonderful!
By S. Gien
These puzzles are fantastic! they come in a great case to store all the puzzle pieces, and are coded on the back in case the pieces get mixed up. What i love is they grow with my 3 year old's skills - in the beginning we just did them one at a time, now we can mix two or three of the puzzles together and he can sort them and do them. they are great for keeping him buzy when we're on the go, and they aren't too big that they are hard to carry. The pieces are made of nice, durable wood so I know they will last. We also got the animal ones and he loves those too. I'm very pleased with this product!

4Sweet pictures and much fun
By Julia
My daughter loves these puzzles. She is 3 and understands about the different shapes on the back, so she is able to do them herself. Pictures are beautiful and she enjoys them very much. There are only two things that are not so great about this product: 1) it doesn't take her very long to do each puzzle, so she's done too quickly and then i have to find something else to occupy her, and 2) she's unable to put the puzzles back in the box herself because of the space provided for each puzzle (an unimportant design flow that seems to repeat with quite a few of the Mellissa and Doug puzzles we own). Unless you specifically 'allign' each piece to save the most room or to make them fit, the box won't close. Thus, an adult has to do it. I wish they could design the boxes of the M@D puzzles more like the normal puzzle boxes allowing for enough room for the puzzle pieces so you can just throw in the pieces and it will all fit without much 'coordination' in putting it away. I don't mean sorting out the shapes from the back of the puzzles - that's a neat trick. I only mean the space provided for each puzzle. Other than that (the fact that i end up having to put it away each time), i think it's a very nice set of puzzles. Of course, older kids might be bored with it, so i'd say 2 - 4 years would probably be a good age group if you're thinking of getting this set for a present.
